‘We have a week to travel almost 20,000km’ I say to MaryJane as we speed down the overcrowded highway 610. ‘With no access to a ship we’ll barely make it’.

‘It doesn’t have to be perfect, any time we can give them will be essential’ she responds ‘if we can translate the codex anything is possible, we could fix it all’

We both look in the mirror at the glowing blue box in the back seat. Neither of us were old enough to remember when this was the source of life and transformation on Ceta.

The last message from Prime before communication went dark indicated they had found the key to translating The Codex.

Nobody talked about it, but Ceta was less than two months from complete collapse, The Codex was their only chance. Lost for generations, it once provided great power to only the worthiest individuals.

‘let’s pull over at the next turn, I’m hungry and we both could use some rest’

‘sure’ I agree and start switching lanes.

MaryJane switches the radio to her phone and clicks on Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me to The Moon’. She plays it every time we stop in a new town, something about associating memories, I guess it kind of works cause every time she plays it, I think of all the other places we’ve been.
