Through my whole creative journey there is one concept that has stuck with me the most - the 'Job of an Artist'. I was introduced to this job as healing, transformative, and growth oriented. I still believe this to be true. In every society, in every form of life, in the creation of earth itself we find art, the universe must create. In denying this fundamental function of our being we do a disservice to humanity and stunt the growth of our species.

Every doctor is just a human growing through their individual trauma, and every artist's body will one day break down and decay. To be more specific, the understanding of the human experience is necessary to achieve a healthy and thriving society AND the human condition cannot be fully explored, explained, nor defined solely through science. Equally, society cannot exist solely on creative observation and expression, all aspects of the human experience are relevant and necessary. The pursuit of global empathy and compassion is an outright OBLIGATION of our existence on earth, for every time we slip, we fall closer to a broken existence.

Humanity is as doomed as the way you great the next stranger. Art is the best method to express and process emotion. Seeing the art of our peers makes us feel less alone, and inspires us to bring our own visions to life. Creating art allows us to think through and understand scenarios that may have seemed cloudy at first, removing the cloud allows you to approach each interaction with calmness and empathy. If every human was provide the base necessities, food, shelter, education, community, what great minds would suddenly be brought to the forefront? Every person deserves the opportunity to find their calling. Every person works infinitely harder for a cause they believe in. Every soul is a companion on our journey, if you open your eyes you will find value in them all.

I believe every individual human is an artist in their own right, and I believe the job of any individual human is, firstly, to heal the parts of themselves necessary to truly grow into their calling, and secondly to pursue their passion with the utmost vigor and just enough empathy so as to not trample anyone to death along the way. I believe the 'Job of an Artist' is to understand their own internal patterns and traumas to allow them to help others do the same.

Artist are like little wizards bringing life into the world, and life feels a lighter when you believe we all have a little magic inside.
